Portfolio
Over the last 8 years, I have been fortunate to work on some amazing projects and with some brilliant minds. I have worked as an independent content creator (and producer and director and writer and and and) as well with some established companies on established IPs. I have worked as a contractor and consultant – I’ve worked with teams for as short as a couple hours and as long as a couple years. It’s hard to tie my work together under some sort of statement, but at the heart is a desire to explore how we can use the internet to engage people in stories and play.
After eight years, my portfolio is quite large. I am slowly getting it together and formatting it in a way that will let you explore my story as well as the projects. In the meantime, I continue to add random thoughts on random projects. You can find them all linked above, but some of the ones that are nearest and dearest to me are:
The ARG Community – I spend most of my “free time” working with others to strengthen and support the amazing community of players that gather at unfiction and ARGN as well as those working in the ARG space (as hobbyests or professionals). From working on ARGFest to moderating forums and mailing lists, to say that I’ve dedicated myself to this is a bit of an understatement. This page not only points to a lot of great resources, it tells you what I do to help them along.
Metacortechs – This was not my first game. It was not my last. It wasn’t even the most fun to work on. But, for some reason, this project has captured my heart unlike any of the others. It was a fan-fiction effort that took place in the Matrix universe and played out just before the release of the third film. It was so popular and loved by the players, that some even wrote a book about it! (how cool is that?!)
Board 2 Street - This isn’t an alternate reality game. It’s an independent project that lets me explore game design by deconstructing board games and reconstructing them to play in public spaces without the board. It’s a fun challenge and one that’s kept me very much occupied this year.
Those will give you an idea of some of what fuels me, but there are a lot more listed and a lot more to come. So check them out and stay tuned!
